Analyses and evaluations were previously created with a high input of resources via Excel or created in tabular form directly from the ERP system using transactions.

What was the starting point?
In the past, many analyzes were still carried out "on foot" via SAP R/3 standard transactions. We also used SAP QuickViews to be able to carry out analyzes beyond the standard transactions. The exports were then grouped, summarised and visualised in Excel. The manual creation of these analyzes was very time-consuming and due to the many individual steps, errors could never be 100% excluded. A full report on spend across all commodity groups was produced once a year.

What was your challenge in purchasing?
Due to the time-consuming preparation of the analyzes, it was not possible to create end-to-end transparency of spend across all commodity groups. However, our goal was to create transparency in the spend analysis in order to be able to recognise and react to changes in the procurement portfolio more quickly. In addition, analyzes should be available at the push of a button. Our experience with SAP R/3 is that these analyzes take a lot of time.
